About Us
Who We Are
Saline River Watershed Alliance (SRWA) is a current Arkansas Non-Profit Corporation and a 501(c)(3) organization of a diverse variety of stakeholders. Including local landowners, businesses, governmental and non-governmental partners, county and city officials.
Our History.
SRWA was first formed in 2019 after a local landowner (Brian Nalley) completed a streambank restoration and aquatic habitat improvement project on the Alum Fork of the Saline River. Completion of the project involved multiple State and Federal agencies for engineering design, permits, and ecological surveys. Private contractors and businesses were used to supply material, equipment, and horticulture supplies. After completion of the 2019 Alum Fork project the concept was created to form a local coalition to educate and assist other landowners to navigate the process thereby implementing a cohesive and holistic approach to conservation and restoration on the Saline River. From that concept Saline River Watershed Alliance took shape and a first Streamside Landowner Management Workshop took place in October 2019 shortly thereafter SRWA was officially formed.
